Daily Debate: What’s Your Favorite Story in Zelda?

So today saw the end of a lengthy series of articles critiquing TP’s storyline, and I think it’s time we shifted gears. Enough critiquing; let’s discuss our favorite stories in Zelda.

Now, that doesn’t only have to refer to the overarching storylines of the games; we needn’t restrict ourselves to saying “my favorite is Twilight Princess” or “Ocarina of Time” or “Phantom Hourglass“. There are also character arcs, sidequest-based stories, even little nuggets that you might have to read between the lines in order to catch. So which tale in Zelda is your absolute favorite?

I think that my overall favorite is probably the tale of Kafei’s quest to regain the Sun’s Mask; I’m sure many gamers will agree that that battle for love was a highlight of Majora’s Mask. If I was to give a more recent fave, though, I think I’d go with Ravio’s tale. His backstory, his quest, and especially that journal that only appears in Hero Mode provide a great deal of development for our good item seller. And one has to wonder where he got those items from—could it be that he obtained them from dungeons himself? Cause if so, maybe he’s not so un-courageous as we might have been led to believe.
