Although no concrete date has been given yet, Breath of the Wild’s Champions’ Ballad DLC is still scheduled to arrive before the end of this year. The story expansion will reportedly take place after the events of the main game, as well as feature a new dungeon. Beyond that information, though, DLC Pack 2 is shrouded in mystery.
With that said, what’s the one thing that, above all else, you hope Breath of the Wild’s last hurrah accomplishes? Are you crossing your fingers for a dungeon that feels less like the Divine Beasts and more like Hyrule Castle? Are you mostly excited to see the Champions themselves again?
This DLC has the opportunity to explore an aspect of the series that has only been briefly touched upon in previous games. How do the people of Hyrule start to rebuild after Ganon’s defeat? What steps will Link, Zelda and the Champions’ descendants take first?
That may or may not be the direction that this expansion heads in, but it’s just one of the ways in which The Champions’ Ballad can improve upon the main game’s greatest shortcoming. As much as I love Breath of the Wild, its story is easily the weakest of the mainline 3D adventures. Again, DLC Pack 2 has the opportunity to add some more substance to the proceedings.
What about you, though? Let us know what your biggest hope for The Champions’ Ballad is in the comments below!
