Hopefully this post doesn’t contain spoilers given that Breath of the Wild has been out for over five years. I’ve played and re-played this iconic game several times over the years and was impressed with Nintendo’s attention to detail and willingness to go the route of DLC as well. Anytime a game is replayed more and more, I find certain steps and areas in the game come more naturally. Even once difficult bosses are more tolerable now that we have beaten them before. But even with this confidence, Breath of the Wild still has persistently difficult areas despite the number of play-throughs.

As I reflect upon Breath of the Wild, I still wonder what was the hardest part of the game. There are innumerable moments of “frustration” of course, e.g. throwing rocks off cliffs perfectly into a ring of lilies or facing off against a Lynel/Guardian sandwich. If I were to rank the hardest part of the game, I actually would have to say the Trial of the Sword in Master Mode is top of my list. It seemed truly unbeatable at times. It’s as if the Monks had doomed Link to never save Hyrule with this perpetually difficult trial. With an appropriate amount of patience and chaining sneak attacks, I think it took me a couple weeks to finally beat this trial.

What areas or parts of Breath of the Wild do you feel are the hardest? Did you have trouble with Trial of the Sword as well? Or could it be collecting all the Korok Seeds? Share your thoughts below!
