Daily Debate: What Zelda Dungeons Would You Like to See as Maps in Among Us?
Posted on December 16 2020 by John Piland
One of my first thoughts upon finding out Among Us was coming to Nintendo Switch was the potential for Nintendo-inspired content. Hence, why I got enthralled at the possibility of maps based on The Legend of Zelda franchise.
For those who don’t know, Among Us, which costs $5 USD on the Nintendo eShop, is a game where groups of up to 10 players must survive in some sort of installation, such as a space station. The catch is that out of the 10 crewmates, between one and three (depending on the mode) are imposters seeking to kill as many unsuspecting crew members as possible. The objective is to survive and, through debates of often conflicting evidence, vote out the imposters and hope you don’t eject any innocents by mistake.
Any Zelda-inspired maps, I imagine, would likely be based on dungeons, presenting near endless possibilities. Some of the dungeons that come to mind for me are a Vah Medoh, Vah Rudania, City in the Sky, and the Shadow Temple. I have the Divine Beasts primarily because they’re the closest match to traditional Among Us maps in that they are technological facilities that would mesh perfectly with the tasks that see crewmates trying to repair the vessel. I say Medoh and Rudania over the other two because one is a flying Divine Beast, and one sits over a lake of lava, making them perfect for ejecting players voted out by the group; after all, there are similar maps in the game already that drop players from the sky and into lava. Likewise, City in the Sky could also see players dropped into oblivion. The Shadow Temple, meanwhile, would provide a fun environment with its eeriness as players try to doge unknown killers. As for the tasks in these latter two, they could take the form of puzzles found in those dungeons in their respective games.
I’m not sure that we will receive Zelda-inspired maps in Among Us on Nintendo Switch, but the thought of it remains enticing nonetheless. At the very least, we can imagine what they would be like.
Would you like to see any Zelda-inspired maps in Among Us? If so, what would they be? Let us know in the comments below!
