The Legend of Zelda series has varied in difficulty across the years, whether it be challenging puzzles, a massive overworld, or tough combat, there is one Zelda game that stands above the others as the most difficult in the series: The Adventure of Link. This game puts all of the player’s gaming prowess to the test in its fast paced action and palaces crawling with monsters. For a game that aimed to put an emphasis on combat, Nintendo certainly stepped up to the challenge. So, what would make the game easier?
It was a very proud moment for me, the first (and only) time I finished The Adventure of Link. I used every trick, collected every heart and magic container, leveled up to the max, and still the Great Palace wiped the floor with me over and over again, until I finally prevailed against the tyranny of the Thunderbird and Link’s Shadow. Along the way, I kept thinking of the game’s fatal flaw. There are no health items. Sure, you ca cast a magic spell to regain some health, but you need that magic for doing other spells. If only there were some recovery hearts dropped by monsters, I believe the game would make you feel like the player at least had a chance!
So what do you think? What would make The Adventure of Link easier for players, new and old? Let us know in the comments!
