Everyone was super hyped for this year’s annual Game Awards and Zelda fans were keen to see their favorite titles claim some top spots.  Nominated for Best Score/Music was Cadence of Hyrule, while Link’s Awakening contended for Best Action/Adventure Game. Sadly, these two Zelda nominations fell short in their categories, alongside many other games that didn’t quite cut it. Gaming fans across the world had high hopes for news and accolades for their favorite and highly anticipated titles, but somehow the whole show seemed to feel a bit lack-lustre.

I was certainly excited for Ori and the Will of the Wisps, as well as the Final Fantasy VII remake, but personally I was hoping for more Nintendo news. Unfortunately, I was left feeling a little let down with nothing to take away from the show. A new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character definitely would have been something to look forward to. And of course, the subtitle for Breath of the Wild 2 would have been the icing on the cake! I watched, waited and hoped for something on this front, but was sadly disappointed. Hopefully this lack of information from Nintendo means that there is a really good Direct coming our way soon.
