Sometimes video game composers reuse older tracks from a video game’s score later on in a series, and The Legend of Zelda is no exception. More often than not, Zelda composers recycle tunes for similar situations, such as the File Select theme used in countless Zelda titles; other times they are reused to announce a specific character, such as Zelda’s Lullaby. For a series with over 20 games in it’s repertoire, it’s no surprise that many of their tracks have been given new life by different composers.

Out of all the remakes and remixes of my favorite Zelda tunes, I think the best reprisal comes from Breath of the Wild in the Rito Village. One of my favorite parts of the whole game was coming into Rito Village and hearing something that caught my memory, but not quite being sure what it was until in came the familiar melody of Dragon Roost Island. The soothing rendition of one of my favorite Zelda tunes ever was such a surprise, I immediately fell in love.

What about you? What reused or reimagined Zelda tune got you really excited? Which one would you like to hear in the next new Zelda game? Let us know in the comments below!
