Spoiler Warning: The article below contains minor spoilers for some returning and new enemies in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

If you’re like me you’ve probably explored a good chunk of Hyrule ,above and below, over the last handful of days. In previous footage we got a brief glimpse of how some of the returning enemies have changes in appearances, but what about the new enemies? We caught a glimpse of a flaming Gleeok and a Boss Bokoblin, and constructs, but there are many more new enemies to be found. So, what is the most terrifying enemy that you have faced upon returning to Hyrule?

This is a tough choice for me, because my gut reaction says it’s the Gibdo that you encounter in the Gerudo Desert. I have a personal fear of zombies and anything zombie-like and my first encounter with the Gibdo was nothing short of terrifying. I had no idea they were in the game, other than a brief glimpse you see in a trailer and even then that was speculation. On top of that, there are some that can fly…  The flying ones honestly look like they came from a Lovecraftian horror. Thankfully, they are easy to fend off, but if you happen to catch one running towards you on all fours then you better be prepared.

My other contender for most terrifying is The Gloom Hands. This is another enemy that I had no idea about, my first encounter I saw the sky turn Blood Moon red and then they appeared. This was early game for me and I thought that they were just a stationary enemy, they’re not, and they are FAST! So, nothing like having horror fill your heart as you attempt to sprint away with your four hearts in tact…

Those are my contenders for most terrifying enemy in Tears of the Kingdom, but I want to hear your thoughts. What enemy do you think is the most terrifying? Let us know in the comments down below.
