Daily Debate: What are Your Hopes for Zelda in the New Year?
Posted on December 29 2021 by Chakell Herbert
Another year has come and is almost gone, and what a ride it’s been! We celebrated the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, which left me wanting a bit more to be honest. We saw a new trailer for the sequel to Breath of the Wild at E3 back in June. And Nintendo Switch online launched Nintendo 64 games, which will allow us to tackle both Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, and fill us with blissful nostalgia.
But despite all that, I still wished for more from my favorite series this year. At the end of it all, my biggest hope for 2022 is most definitely that Breath of the Wild 2 does, in fact, get released at some point during the year. I don’t know if I have ever been more hyped for a game in my entire life, and I can only hope it lives up to what I’m expecting and feeling!
As we run toward the horizon of 2022, let’s all send our good vibes to Nintendo so they can keep their promise about this game’s release date (and at least reveal the title sometime soon).
What are your hopes for Zelda next year? Let me know in the comments!
Chakell (pronounced shuh-kell) is an associate editor for Zelda Dungeon! She has loved The Legend of Zelda series since she was a little girl because of its equal mix of princesses, besting bad guys, and heartfelt stories. Chakell lives in the overall tame state of Utah, but holds onto her childhood hopes to find an adventure in her backyard one day. She has a degree in English and is a full-time editor for a magazine. You can usually find her gaming (obviously), laughing with her husband, taking a long time to tell stories because she keeps getting distracted; getting sucked into books and podcasts; or snuggling her cute Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
