Daily Debate: What Are Your Favorite Quotes From the Zelda Series?

Although the Zelda franchise features a protagonist that stays silent for the most part, the series is not without memorable quotes. On the more iconic side is, of course, “It’s dangerous to go alone, take this!” from The Legend of Zelda, or “You’ve met with a terrible fate, haven’t you?” from Majora’s Mask. But there are also sayings that are famously comedic, like “I am Error” from The Adventure of Link, or Groose’s suggestion to name Hyrule “Grooseland” upon first landing on the surface in Skyward Sword.
For me, Sheik’s lines in Ocarina of Time carry a certain subtlety within the narrative that I’ve always appreciated. But, there is also Twilight Princess, where the light spirit Lanayru warns Link that “Those who do not know the danger of wielding power will, before long, be ruled by it”. Whether you recall Ganon remarking at the wind blowing in The Wind Waker or Princess Zelda reminding Link of his unforgettable courage in Breath of the Wild, there are tons of legendary quotes in the series.
