Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will soon be upon us, and the newest trailer leaves Zelda fans with many questions. Some of the biggest questions that fans have stem from the mysterious figure featured at the end of the newest trailer. We only see this cloaked person for a few seconds, but the fan base was alive with theories after the trailer dropped. Some have begun to ask if the figure was Vaati or Yuga.
Vaati has been a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series having been featured in Four Swords, Four Swords Adventures, and The Minish Cap. I can see where some would find some similarities between Vaati and the mystery figure, but in my opinion I don’t see it. I can argue more for Yuga, one of the antagonists from A Link Between Worlds. The gem on the mysterious figure’s face is reminiscent of the jewel on Yuga’s crown. The shape and look of the eyes also favor Yuga, along with the braided lock of hair that hangs in the mysterious character’s face. The mystery figure holds a glowing orb and one could argue that it’s a new form of Yuga’s staff. Both Vaati and Yuga have ties to Ganon so the discussion on the character being either of the two is interesting. I wonder how they would tie that together with the over arcing narrative of Breath of the Wild though. Personally, I don’t see it, but I do think that this character is an emissary of Ganon.
What do you think, could the mystery figure be Vaati or Yuga? If not those characters who do you think it might be? Sound off in the comments below!
