I’m kind of surprised that the Four Swords  games haven’t been given more love over the years on newer systems that better accommodate the multiplayer experience. The timed releases of Four Swords Anniversary Edition on the DS and 3DS with little to no advertising received a lot of backlash, and rightfully so. Nintendo didn’t properly advertise the re-release of this game and many fans weren’t even aware that it was available, and by the time many of us found out, the limited re-release window had already expired, causing many fans to miss out on the chance to play Four Swords on a modern system (myself included).

Now with the huge success of the Switch, I think it would be a huge missed opportunity if Nintendo didn’t revisit these classic multiplayer games and release them for this system. Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures would work incredibly well on the Switch, having the individual tablets attached to a single TV, and when one of the players enters a cave, that footage would be visible on the Switch screen and very easy to see and follow. I would love a chance to play these games without having a million Gameboy cables hooked up and a tiny screen that isn’t back-lit that makes the cave sequences a lot more challenging than they should be. The Switch is the perfect answer for those issues.

Would you play Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures on the Switch? Would a re-release be worth it? Let us know what you think in the comments!
