Since the original The Legend of Zelda, fans of the series have enjoyed collecting everything the game has had to offer. As time went on and Nintendo added even more things to collect in their games, fans have met the challenge time and time again. From Gold Skulltulas to Korok Seeds, Zelda games have always had extra collectibles and quests to complete. However, Nintendo has never offered a bonus for doing everything in the game–just bonuses for completing certain tasks.

The closest they have come to a 100% completion bonus is the Fierce Deity Mask in Majora’s Mask which can only be unlocked by obtaining all the other masks in the game. Obtaining this mask doesn’t mean you’ve done everything though; after all, you could’ve missed Pieces of Heart or inventory upgrades. But what kind of bonus would be appreciated for a Zelda game?

Personally, I believe it depends on the game. Completing everything in Breath of the Wild for instance could have offered a unique outfit or a special weapon, while completing everything in the original The Wind Waker could have given the player the Swift Sail item that was later introduced in the HD version of the game.

For future games though, there are so many different options! Completion could unlock concept art, sound tests, special items, a new ending, etc. The possibilities are endless!

What do you think though? Should Nintendo add 100% completion bonuses to future Zelda games? Or do you prefer their current system where finishing a quest gives something to players but finishing everything doesn’t unlock anything special? Let us know in the comments below!
