A release date for Breath of the Wild 2 is still far beyond our reach, but that hasn’t stopped fans from discussing their hopes and dreams for the sequel. Will we see familiar characters, new regions and exciting new quests? In particular, I wonder if the sequel would benefit from another game-wide quest like the one that Hestu gives you in Breath of the Wild?

If you’re unfamiliar with Hestu’s grand quest, here’s the general gist. Hestu is an over-sized Korok who might remind you of a huge broccoli. He asks you to retrieve Korok Seeds that his fellow Korok have stole from him. Now, there are 900 of these seeds hidden throughout the Breath of the Wild map, and I thought it made for a nice side quest. Breath of the Wild encouraged exploration, and the Koroks were everywhere! They could be found under rocks, in the water, and some even had small, puzzle like mini-games to complete. And the reward for Hestu’s grand quest? The game calls it “Hestu’s Gift” but the in-game description says that it smells very bad, and it looks like a pile of dung!

I’m still searching, and eventually I’ll find all 900 seeds, even if the reward is kind of a turn off. I know that many have completed the feat, but finding 900 seeds seems like a daunting task! That being said, I do think Breath of the Wild 2 would benefit from a similar, large, game-wide quest. I’m not saying it should be a repeat Korok Seed quest, but I hope it would have a similar mechanic with a much greater reward at the end. A snazzy piece of armor or something that Link could display in his Hateno home would be great! A large, non-story related quest could make open-world exploring more fun! It certainly made the first game really enjoyable.  Regardless, I look forward to whatever quests and side quests that Breath of the Wild 2 will include.

What do you think? Should Breath of the Wild 2 have a game-wide quest like the Korok Seeds? Sound off in the comments below!
