Daily Debate: Should Breath of the Wild 2 Allow You to Tame an Animal Companion?

Let us pet the dog! There were so many good boys (and gals) in Breath of the Wild, but one of the worst things about the dogs in the game was that we could not pet them. We could feed them, stare them down, and even capture a cool picture, but we could not pet them. My hope for Breath of the Wild 2 would be letting us pet the dog, and to tame them, or another animal, as a companion.

“But a horse is a tamable animal companion!” Yeah, but Link traditionally has a horse. I want to be able to explore the “wild” and take another animal with me. I’d love to be able to tame a dog, a wolf, or some other kind of small animal to travel with me. The Wolf-Link amiibo made that dream a reality, but if Wolf-Link died you were out of luck for a full day. In Breath of the Wild 2 there would also be danger of your new companion returning to Hylia, but at least you would be able to find another one quickly to join you on your quest. I digress, but I would love to pet the dog and invite him to come along with me.
