As part of the celebrations for the Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary, Animal Crossing: New Horizons received an update which allowed players to purchase some really cool Super Mario-themed furniture and items.  Players raced to the Special Goods section of their Nook Shopping to get their hands on Fire Flowers, Floating Blocks, Goal Poles and more.  With such an awesome way of celebrating the franchises big occasion, it seemed natural to assume that The Legend of Zelda would be next in line, what with its own 35th anniversary having just taken place.

Unfortunately, fans are still waiting for promotional Zelda-themed furniture and items to make an appearance in Animal Crossing, and that’s a real shame.  As an avid Zelda fan, and a regular island-dweller, I’d love to see something special to mark this big birthday.  It would be great to be able to purchase a Master Sword and pedestal, and some Silent Princess seeds from my Nook Shopping.  I know exactly what I’d do with them too — picture a flowered grove secluded by trees and the Master Sword sleeping peacefully in the centre.  I’d also like to see some shields that I can hang on the walls inside my house, and some outfits including that classic green tunic and Princess Zelda’s dress.  Lastly, I’d ask for Hyrule Castle-themed wallpaper and flooring for decoration.  Nintendo has got to get this sorted — and soon!

So, do you think Animal Crossing should incorporate Zelda-themed promotional items?  Let us know in the comments below!
