Now that Nintendo Direct at E3 has come to an end, it’s time to process everything that was presented to us! Whether you’re hyped or disappointed over the announcements, one thing is for sure: the new Breath of the Wild 2 trailer left us with many speculations and questions. We see many similarities with Skyward Sword, as well as new items, and a new hairstyle for Link! I must have watched the trailer at least a dozen times, and I’m probably still missing out on a lot of details.

One thing I am curious about is this particular mecha-like creature revealed during the trailer. There are not many tech elements in this trailer — not even a guardian to bless me with anxiety — and after watching it one last time, a few details tell me this guy might be significant.

In the images from the trailer, I’ve circled the statues shown on this creature’s shoulders and in the new sky location. The Legend of Zelda series loves to incorporate symbols throughout dungeons and its bosses, so it’s not surprising that we see this here as well. Aside from the pinecone (or egg-like) statues, the altar in the background that the creature is guarding is identical to the altar Link arrives at. Perhaps this is the place we go to after defeating this mecha-like boss to obtain an item or ability?

With the statues displayed throughout, and the similar location, I feel this trailer gave us a glimpse of a dungeon in the sky portion of Breath of the Wild 2. What do you think? Is this creature a dungeon boss in the sky or an elaborate mini-boss? Let us know in the comments!
