I know, I know, we need to stop it with the Breath of the Wild 2 theories. I get it, I really do! However, while I know this is probably not the first time this theory has been mentioned, the idea has been nagging me quite some time. Perhaps this is my way of clinging on to the hope that a companion will return in the sequel.

There is a theory floating around that the arm could represent Ganondorf. Similarly, another speculates that the arm could be evil because the tattoos on it look similar to Ghirahim’s. I highly disagree with these concepts simply because in the trailers, the arm saves Link from falling after merging with him. I can’t imagine an entity belonging to either of those villains would behave this way.

The main reason I believe it’s a Sheikah companion is that Link controls his powers through this arm. He’s able to perform Stasis without the use of the Sheikah Slate and he’s able to move through objects much like a ghost walking through a wall. It’s an interesting thought if this was indeed a spirit granting him that ability. Aside from this, I think that the design of the arm looks akin to a Sheikah Monk. They are both embellished with gold pieces, whether it’s armor or jewelry; not to mention the smaller details such as the lines and circles on the arm are similar features in the Ancient Shrines. I know, now I’m just nitpicking here!

Of course, we have a long way to find out the purpose of Link’s arm; however, it’s still amusing to speculate ideas pertaining to it. Share your thoughts! Are there particular theories about his arm that you are leaning towards? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
