Since the Switch’s launch, Nintendo has made it a priority to bring the Wii U’s best games over to the console-handheld hybrid. Throughout 2017, I thought “OK, they’ll probably just port a handful of their most successful games over to the Switch.” Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, for instance, seemed like too niche of a prospect. Aside from Hyrule Warriors, it was my favorite game on the Wii U, but I seriously doubted its chances.

Fortunately, the Big N saw the light and gave Tokyo Mirage Sessions a new lease on life just this past month. At this point, I’m convinced that just about every critically successful, first-party Wii U game will eventually make its way to the Switch. I mean, they’ve already ported so many of them over that only a small handful remain. With how successful most of these ports have been, Nintendo would be crazy not to add The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD to this juggernaut of a system.

While we wait, though, let’s talk about the latter game specifically. While honoring the sacred tradition of adding Twilight Princess to every home Nintendo console since the GameCube, the developers would have yet another opportunity to further polish this title.

Considering my undying love for the game, I can’t think of too many improvements I’d like to see, but no video game is perfect. This may sound silly, but one annoyance that has plagued every iteration of Twilight Princess takes place during Midna’s Desperate Hour. You know the one I’m referring too. This sequence boasts one of the most beautifully melancholic tracks in any video game, only to be interrupted with the generic “enemy encounter” music whenever a baddy approaches. Again, it’s such a minor gripe in the grand scheme of things, but given how often I’ve heard that issue brought up, I’d love to see that finally cleared up. 14 years isn’t too late, Nintendo!

That’s just one thing that immediately sprang to mind, though. Among the improvements or additions that we could reasonably expect to see from a Switch port of Twilight Princess HD, which ones would you want? Let us know in the comments below!
