Throughout the Zelda series, Link’s arsenal of weapons has grown significantly. From the standard sword and bow to more unique weapons like the Ball and Chain or the Hookshot, his versatility and the options players have when fighting as Link make each individual game memorable and fun. But have you ever wished that Link could borrow weapons from other game series to aid in his adventures? I do, because I’ve never been particularly fond of collecting keys to open boss rooms or new areas. I really felt this frustration with older installments like Link’s Awakening, where I ended up spending hours at a time trying to backtrack in a dungeon and collect a key that I had missed along the way.

The weapon that would instantly solve this problem for me? The Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts. With the ability to unlock any door, raiding boss rooms would no longer require keys to get inside. Plus, bludgeoning Bokoblins to death sounds fun, because what the Keyblade lacks in sharpness, it makes up for with bluntness. In an ideal world, I also think the Keyblade should have a custom look that incorporates the look and feel of what makes Zelda games unique. I think the Guardian of Hyrule Keyblade artwork to the left, illustrated by Bayr-Arms, is a perfect blend. What do you think? If you could pick any weapon for Link to wield from another video game series to break improve the adventuring experience, what would it be? Let us know in the comments!
