As we move through the busy holiday season, it seems like most Zelda fans are daydreaming about Tears of the Kingdom. Set for release in May 2023, the game finally feels tangible! While I have enjoyed rewatching the most recent trailer, Nintendo has not released many concrete details about the upcoming game. Even though the game was announced at E3 2019, Nintendo has been extremely guarded with footage of the game. The combined length of the various trailers for Tears of the Kingdom (previously called the sequel to Breath of the Wild) totals less than ten minutes.

With this in mind, how much more footage of Tears of the Kingdom do you want to see before it releases on May 12, 2023? For this discussion, footage of the game could be gameplay or cutscenes. The footage could come in a variety of different forms like trailers, Nintendo Treehouse/demo footage, or developer interviews with accompanying footage of the game.

Overall, I would like to see between five and ten minutes of footage from Tears of the Kingdom before it launches in May. A three to four minute story trailer that gives better insight into the set up and plot of the game, similar to the Breath of the Wild trailer that wrapped up the Nintendo Switch presentation in January 2017, would further build hype and excitement for the game. I would also enjoy some commentary from developers or Nintendo treehouse staff on how the game is different from Breath of the Wild. I want to know what is going to set Tears of the Kingdom apart from its acclaimed predecessor, whether it is new mechanics, enemies, or changes to the game world. For example, is the world map going to be identical to Breath of the Wild‘s world map?

What do you think? How much footage of Tears of the Kingdom do you want to see before it releases on May 12, 2023? What type of content or footage would you like to see? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below?
