The ESA confirmed Wednesday, March 11th that E3 would unfortunately be canceled due to growing concerns about COVID-19. The Coronavirus has swept the world by storm and has caused many major events to be canceled in the U.S. and abroad. E3 has always been a big summer hit for gamers everywhere; so how do you feel about its cancellation?

Personally I was not able to attend, but I can sympathize with those who had made travel plans, booked plane tickets, and hotels. Hopefully, refunds won’t be too much of a hassle to get. I also feel for the developers and other companies who planned to showcase games to the public. Given that E3 is a huge event that is normally full of people, I think that the ESA made the right call given that the Coronavirus is still a major concern. I’m more bummed for those who planned to attend. I do believe, and it’s fairly certain since it happens every year, that we will still get a Nintendo Direct. Nintendo fans probably haven’t lost very much, and other major companies have decided to host their own events and opt out of E3. I think the best decision for the public’s health has been made, though I’m sure it was a hard decision to make.

How do you feel about E3 being canceled this year? Were you planning on attending? Sound off in the comments below.
