Daily Debate: How Did You Discover The Zelda Series?

Every legend has a fateful beginning. My tale of being introduced to The Legend of Zelda isn’t too interesting, but I’ll share anyway. It begins with my father, back in the mid-80’s he was given a Nintendo Entertainment System as a Christmas gift from his sister-in-law’s mother. At some point he bought Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and really enjoyed it, and became a Zelda fan from then on.
Years later, when I was 3 years old, he saw Ocarina of Time while browsing an old local electronics store, so he bought a Nintendo 64 alongside the game. Watching him play it was my introduction to Zelda, and I was captivated by everything I saw. The rest is history!
Everyone’s story might be different; maybe it was an older sibling who exposed them to Zelda, or going over to a friend’s house and seeing a Zelda game being played. So let’s do some retrospecting!
