Please do not let the title fool you, I am as excited for the Breath of the Wild sequel as much as the next person. But I’ve started to wonder, have we begun to hype it up too much? Fans are desperate to hear some kind of news from Nintendo, especially regarding Breath of the Wild 2. Rumors are everywhere and I think that everyone has their own set of expectations when it comes to what they want from the sequel. Are we expecting too much though? Are we hyping ourselves up so much, only to be disappointed?

I think there is a chance that everyone will be a little disappointed when more details for Breath of the Wild 2 come out. Some will complain that Zelda could be a playable character, and vice-versa. The game may lack traditional dungeons, just like it’s predecessor, and this might cause issues for others. The map could be too big or too small, or other Zelda related wishes may or may not be granted.

I don’t think there are a lot of problems with hype; hype is good! Especially when we’re in a dry spell for big Zelda news. Hype can have a small, negative side though. I think we can cling so much to the hype from rumors and our personal expectations that it can taint reality when we finally get some answers. I’m hyped up for Breath of the Wild 2, but recently I’ve been trying to temper my hype so that when we do get some news, I’m not disappointed from my own extremely high expectations. We’ll see how that goes!

What do you think? Are we hyping up Breath of the Wild 2 up too much? Sound off in the comments below.
