With E3 2019 less than a week away, hype is in full swing! We’ve had months to contemplate what announcements are likely to occur. With the little time remaining, it is time to dream big while we can, so far-fetched notions may as well surface before it’s too late! Nintendo’s E3 Direct is already due to focus on a decent amount of Zelda content, with the spinoff title Cadence of Hyrule and the Link’s Awakening remake; even with that in mind, and despite better judgement, we could still hope for more! For quite awhile the idea of both Twilight Princess HD and The Wind Waker HD being ported to the Switch has bounced around, and with E3 coming up they are something to consider being revealed.

The Switch has already had numerous ports of other Wii U games, like Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Breath of the Wild, and so on. In reflection of that, it feels like ports of Twilight Princess HD and The Wind Waker HD are bound to happen in the future, and it’d be very surprising if one or both games were announced to be ported at E3. Such a reveal will probably only happen if the games will be released this year, however, because the focus of Nintendo’s E3 presentation will only be games available to play this holiday season.

So, could we get ports to the Switch of Twilight Princess HD and The Wind Waker HD this year? Perhaps the porting process for these games is near completion and will be ready for launch by this holiday season. If so, which one are you hoping for if we don’t get both? Would ports of those games satisfy you, or would you prefer some other kind of Zelda announcement at E3? We’re interested to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
