The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases in about four months. You would think that Nintendo would be all over marketing the newest Zelda game, and the Zelda game that is a direct sequel to the Game of the Year winning Breath of the Wild. Since the initial teaser trailer in 2019 we’ve had next to no news regarding Tears of the Kingdom. So, do you think that Nintendo will continue their slow marketing plan?

Having a small background in marketing; I’m a little surprised that Nintendo has taken the slow burn approach to marketing Tears of the Kingdom. The game has certainly had plenty of hype, but is that enough to carry the game for another four months? I don’t think so, but I have been a firm believer that whenever we get the first Nintendo Direct of the year that it will be heavily Zelda focused. If we get something before a Direct I would think maybe it would be after the release of Fire Emblem: Engage at the end of January. These are just some predictions (and hopes) that I have been having for awhile.

I can find a lot of appeal of keeping such an anticipated sequel tightly wrapped up so nothing is leaked or spoiled, but at the same time I, and the rest of my colleagues at Zelda Dungeon, are ready for something! We’ve now reached the point where fans are hanging on to every little rumor possible so I do think that it’s high time that Nintendo picks up the pace and begins to properly hype the game up.

What do you think though? Do you think Nintendo will continue to slowly roll things out for Tears of the Kingdom? Let us know in the comments below.
