Daily Debate: Do You Like To Use A Name Other Than Link When Choosing A Filename?

There are two types of people when starting a new file in a Zelda game. There are the purists that insist on always naming the hero Link, and those who like to be creative, and choose something different. Even in Twilight Princess there is the option to name Epona something different as well. But which of these two types of people are you?

For me, I like to keep it simple, and name my file Link– and Epona for Twilight Princess. However, if someone asks me to name him something different, I usually go along with it. I always like the idea of Link being more of his own character, so I liked the fact that you couldn’t change his name– or Epona’s– in Breath of the Wild.

Did you enjoy the fact that Link’s name was already a given in Breath of the Wild? Or would you rather have had fun with it and name him something else like you do in any other Zelda game. What kind of names do you normally go for? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below!
