Daily Debate: Do You Hope for The Symphony of the Goddesses to Tour Again?
Posted on July 12 2020 by Heather Beard
The Legend of Zelda is widely known for its music, but did you know that there was once a full orchestra that toured and played pieces of the beloved music? The Symphony of the Goddesses was toured from 2012 until 2017 and had three different tours aptly named for the Zelda series: The Original Season, Second Quest, and Master Quest. The tour evolved from the 25th anniversary concert series and became known as The Symphony of the Goddesses. The orchestra has not toured since concluding its final show, and I hope that they return.
I never got the chance to see a concert while they were on tour. The Symphony came to my hometown and unfortunately I was extremely sick and was unable to attend. I know of many who have had the opportunity to go and from their stories it was definitely a treat! I think having an opportunity to listen to music from video games in a live format can further one’s appreciation for it. It also is a good demonstration of the amount of people and work it takes to score a video game. The Symphony of the Goddesses played music from many different Zelda games and with Breath of the Wild 2 on the horizon it would be a fantastic time to make a return. I think it would also be a great way to introduce new fans to the Zelda series to the music in a format they have never expected to hear or see.
What do you think? Do you hope for The Symphony of the Goddesses to return? Have you seen the show? Sound off in the comments below!
