The Legend of Zelda as a series has become a huge comfort for me, much like my favorite seasons. There’s nothing I love more than curling up with my favorite Zelda game and just playing for a few hours. As time has gone on I have come to associate some Zelda games with certain seasons, so let’s discuss that today.

The Wind Waker has always felt like a good Summer game for me. I feel like it’s probably because I associate The Great Sea and sailing with Summertime. Where I’m from the Summers are always humid and blazing so I love that The Wind Waker takes place among different island locales; it makes me wish for cooler days. Now if only I could place myself within that iteration of Hyrule when it’s hot. I’m sure it would be nice to take a siesta on Outset Island under a shaded tree.

Another game that I associate with a particular season is Majora’s Mask. I associate the game with Autumn (or Fall if you wish.) Majora’s Mask has always had a lot of Halloween vibes for me, mainly because of the different masks that are found in the game. Majora’s Mask also has a pretty scary premise of the impending doom of the Moon falling on Clock Town. Majora’s Mask would be the perfect game to play leading up to Halloween and setting up all of the spooky vibes for the season. Twilight Princess also fits the season of Autumn for me too. The dark, twilit areas feel ominous and spooky to me, and the overall artwork for the game has a darker feel that I find myself associating with Autumn. And finally, for a game that fits every season because of its open world map, is Breath of the Wild. There are so many different seasons represented throughout the vast map of Breath of the Wild that I find myself enjoying that game year round.

Zelda games are fun any time of year, but these are a few that I find myself enjoying more during a particular season. What about you? Is there a Zelda game that you enjoy more during a certain season?  Let us know in the comments below!
