Daily Debate: Did You Buy Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity?

The day is finally here, we can finally dive into Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity! Although the story might be alluring, I know plenty of people who have never enjoyed the gameplay of Musou games, and might pass on it altogether. So I’m interested to find out how many of you are picking up Age of Calamity today on release day?

I pre-ordered the game back in October, and I am considering the game as a week late birthday gift for myself this month. It’s weird because I wasn’t a very big fan of the original Hyrule Warriors. I’m in the boat that the combat can get really boring and repetitive. To be honest, I never thought I’d purchase another Musou game again, but sadly this year hasn’t turned up many new games that interested me. As it turned out, Age of Calamity is the only game I’m remotely interested in – by virtue of it being Zelda-themed, and a prequel to what has become one of my favorite games in the series. I think if there had been more games released this year that I would have bought or saved up for, Age of Calamity would have either been a later purchase, or I may have passed it up altogether.
