Books and video games share a lot of traits with each other. From serving the role as a place to escape and experience worlds unlike any other, to having fanbases that are dedicated and die hard, the cultures of each format are very similar. So, what about that realm where they overlap?

The Legend of Zelda series is no stranger to the graphic novel genre, but we’re talking more about traditional text here. Several famous video game franchises have broken into the novel format, such as the Halo series, Gears of War, and Starcraft, to name a few. Some of these titles are direct novelizations of the game they’re based on, while others are original stories set within their established universe.

When it comes to Zelda though, what would satisfy your bookworm itch? Do you think a direct adaptation of something like Skyward Sword would work as a novel? Or perhaps you’d rather have an original story set as Link and Zelda began to establish the first Kingdom of Hyrule? I’m only using Skyward Sword as an example, so feel free to bring other games and theories into the debate. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
