Daily Debate: Besides The Master Sword, Which Sword Is Your Favorite?

Link and the Master Sword are a bit like apple pie and custard, or maybe ice cream — you cannot have one without the other. There are often comparisons made between the Master Sword and Excalibur, due to pulling the sword from its resting place and iconic lore. To me, the Master Sword is the ultimate weapon in the Zelda series. There is nothing more epic than entering a final dungeon, and knowing that you are powered up with the Master Sword to take down Ganon.

Our Daily Debate today asks the question; besides the Master Sword, which sword is your favorite? One of the things I enjoyed about playing Breath of the Wild, was the ability to pick up different types of swords throughout the game. I remember seeing a Zora Sword for the first time and appreciating how ornate it was compared to the more rustic broadswords I’d used previously. The way the elemental blades and the Guardian Swords glow really make them stand out, especially when claimed inside a shrine. I was also delighted to see the welcome return of an old favorite — the Biggoron’s Sword, which reminded me of the trading quest from Ocarina of Time.

As you can see from the featured artwork, there is a lot to choose from, and that’s even before Breath of the Wild’s contribution!
