Okay, okay – Okami isn’t a Zelda game, so we probably shouldn’t be debating about, but what they hey. It’s always been like a close cousin of the Zelda series and is often referred to as one of the best Zelda games that’s not actually a Zelda game, so debate we will!
Recently, Capcom announced that an HD port of their 2006 adventure game would be headed to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. Already an absolutely gorgeous game, the thought of seeing Okami run in full HD had me really excited – until I saw a version wasn’t announced for the Nintendo Switch. While not uncommon for Nintendo to be snubbed on the game release front, it is a little strange Capcom opted to forgo a Switch release seeing as how Okami was released on the Wii (which it sold just as well as its PS2 companion) and its sequel was a Nintendo DS game.
I’m hoping that Capcom changes its tune and releases a version of Okami HD on the Switch, but what about you guys? Did you play the original? Would you be down seeing a portable version of Amaterasu’s adventure on Nintendo’s handheld? Let us know in the comments below!
