Entering the Great Fairy Fountain for the first time in A Link to the Past is a — pardon the pun — magical moment. While this isn’t the first Zelda game to feature such an area, it is the first to introduce us to the iconic Fairy Fountain theme. This music has such a warm, calming effect on the player that they almost forget that they’re on an adventure.

And that feeling is definitely evident with this rather chill cover of the theme. Provided to us by Misstiq and Kris Xenopoulos, this “chill beats and guitar” cover of the Great Fairy Fountain theme definitely evokes what the original tune did so well. In the video description, Misstiq says that she and Xenopoulos wanted to create their own “vibe” with this cover. They definitely accomplished this, as this rework still has the safe-haven feel, but with more oomph provided by Xenopoulos’ guitar.

What do you think of this cover? Will you be checking out any more work from Misstiq or Kris Xenopoulos?
