Breath of the Wild‘s Korok Forest is a crucial location for the game’s inventory progression and story. First, the Korok Forest has several Shrines that can help the player collect valuable Spirit Orbs. Second, the lovable Hetsu makes his home here and the player can upgrade their inventory slots. Third, the massive forest is home to the legendary Master Sword, along with the gateway to the Master Trials DLC.

The Korok Forest is one of the few locations that is truly safe for Link, and its musical theme smoothly communicates a sense of peace and calm. While the in-game original was well received, this Celtic remix by Tim de Man is a welcome and refreshing take on the song. Much like Tim de Man’s other celtic remixes, this Celtic “Korok Forest” arrangement uses accordion, guitars, whistle, drums and vocals to create a rich soundscape. In this arrangement, the accordion, guitar and whistle are the focus of the first half of the song, while the drums and bass guitar join in for the second half.

This arrangement opens quietly with a beautiful tin whistle feature that is supplemented by a chill acoustic guitar backing. From there, instruments like the tambourine and accordion contribute to the lush sound of the song. At 0:59, a beautiful choral arrangement is added to the song. The second half includes a solid percussion rhythm along with a steady baseline. From 2:10 on, the accordion take center stage with an exciting solo before the piece concludes with one final dramatic exclamation mark. Overall, the arranger of the piece does an excellent job of continuously introducing instruments so that the arrangement never feels boring or repetitious.
