Breath of the Wild is home to many different statues; most commonly found among the ruins of Hyrule are the Goddess statues. The statues of Hylia are found in every remaining settlement and a few other places like the Temple of Time on The Great Plateau. However, there’s another interesting statue found off the beaten path in Hateno Village. The statue is known by many names: The Horned Statue, The Demon Statue, or The Granter of Boons. A young boy in the village is able to take you to visit this statue, and upon interacting with it, the statue is shocked that you can hear it. The statue communicates with Link much like the Goddess statues do. The Goddess statues are granters of heart containers and energy containers when Link trades in four spirit orbs, but The Demon Statue of Hateno Village deals in these containers.

In the video above, YouTube content creator Zeltik discusses who or what this interesting statue is. Zeltik theorizes that the statue actually contains the spirit of a character that we’ve seen before in the series. He discusses other characters throughout the series that have been trapped inside other entities, and he comes to the conclusion that the statue may be more than it seems. It’s an interesting theory, especially since this is the only statue like it in the game. Hateno’s Demon Statue is a sinister dealer with an interesting background!

What do you think about the theory? Do you agree or disagree? Do you have your own theory? Sound off in the comments below!
