While it may be considered the black sheep of the main series, there’s no denying that Zelda II features some amazing music, so much so that it’s been included in the volumes of tracks in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Recently, Canadian pianist Laurence Manning created a medley of two of the game’s most popular tracks: “Temple”, and “Great Temple”. This piano cover brings the pieces into a more modern style, while still retaining their original harshness.

Alongside this, Manning has recently completed a Kickstarter project, aiming to fund the release of her first professional album. The crowdfund raised $10,508, well over the $3,500 goal. Thanks to this, her album is due to be released in May 2019, and features the above medley, as well as piano covers of “Gerudo Valley”, “Gourmet Race” (from the Kirby series), “Where We Used to Be” (from Xenoblade Chronicles 2), as well as several other tracks, some added thanks to stretch goals from the project.

You can find out more about the album, and listen to more of Manning’s works on her Youtube channel.
