As a self-taught guitarist myself, I love watching other guitarists showcase their skills. As a gamer, it doesn’t get better than when those two worlds collide. To celebrate the Link’s Awakening remake, guitarists Sophie Lloyd and Georgia Bell teamed up to recreate several of the game’s more memorable tracks. Included in their shred session are the “Main Theme”, “The Storm” (raft intro), “Trendy Game”, and “Boss Battle”, among others.

Artist interpretations of classic songs can often be hit or miss. But these two ladies absolutely nail the music while adding a sort of heavy metal spin to the tracks. This video clearly shows a love and nostalgia for the game and music, and it makes me want to grab a guitar and start practicing!

Sophie Lloyd’s YouTube channel is full of excellent covers and original songs alike. She specializes in shredding guitar, with videos including a cover of Van Halen’s “Panama” and her original “Zombie Dance”.

What do you think of this interpretation of Link’s Awakening‘s soundtrack? Do you enjoy covers like this, or prefer the original music? Let us know in the comments below!
