It is no overstatement to say that music that comes from the Zelda series is some of the best out there. Despite a likely bias on my part, there is a distinct ability of Zelda music to be adapted into so many different genres and still maintain the mystical wonder of the original tune. It truly is a testament to the genius of the initial series composer Koji Kondo, as well as the creativity and talent of the fans who are covering these songs.

In fact, a recent medley pays tribute to Koji Kondo’s work, covering a variety of songs from The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, and Ocarina of Time in both rock and lo-fi styles. MYM on YouTube is the musical group that performs this medley, with Martin Plante on drums, Myriam Reid on harp, and Yohann Boudreault on guitars and bass; Yohann is additionally responsible for the audio and video production. The medley also features many in-game sound effects, which is just one facet of MYM and their stunning attention to detail that serves to prove their passion.

What do you think? What song did you most enjoy hearing in the medley? What is you favorite fan cover? Let us know in the comments below!
