Nintendo recently announced that they are releasing an Explorer’s Edition bundle of Breath of the Wild on Black Friday that includes the Switch game, a two-sided map, and a 100-page explorer’s guide. They’ve also made this announcement in Japan and even shared a few pages that can be found in the Japanese edition of the guide. Based on these pictures the guide has a different cover and will at least showcase the wildlife, weaponry, and characters found throughout Hyrule. Being just a few out of 100 pages, we’re sure to get a lot more out of this new guide.

Japan’s Nintendo site also states, in a rough translation, that the guide and map are to be sold separately at the My Nintendo Store, at least in Japan. This information can change of course, but it opens up the possibility that players who already own Breath of the Wild might be able to purchase the guide and map without having to buy the game again. For now, let’s keep our fingers crossed!

What do you guys think? I have to say that I love the art and the amount of work put into the guide. I may just have to buy the game again just to get my hands on it. Let us know what you think down below!

What’s that scene on the cover from? I don’t ever remember Link and Zelda holding the Master Sword at the same time (just on separate occasions)

Why cant we ride moose and rhino’s?
it would be cool to ride a rhino and just ram into everything.

That was the cover art for the Gameinformer magazine focused on BotW.

If you look closely you’ll notice that Zelda is holding the rusted/damaged Master Sword ready to place it into the pedestal, while Link is holding the restored Master Sword.

I would like to ride Wolf Link (no judging) so I can have a go-to steed everywhere I go.

I would have also liked to have a key item that allows me to whistle and Sand Seals will willingly come to me and allow me to mount them.

That’s nice. Shouldn’t her dress be all dirty and torn apart then?

  • richa

    yeah that would be good.
it helps renting one tho, they are a lot faster 😀

But if you are still exploring the desert you can’t go inside new Shrines or else they’ll leave, which is lame…

As much as I ADORE that artwork… why does it make it look like Link is taller than Zelda?

In the game I’m pretty sure she’s taller than him. Not by much, granted, but still.

I really don’t want to buy a second copy of the game to get the book and map, so yeah, this would be great

I was pretty disappointed that we couldn’t ride a moose. At one point in the game I had a very “Canadian” looking outfit (It was dyed the colors of the Canadian flag) and I was ready and rearing to ride on a moose screaming “CANADA!!!” only to find out you can’t actually ride them. It was as disappointing as not being able to pet the dogs.

I don’t know, I’m just telling you that I remember seeing it on the cover art and what I think it represents. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

Aw no you’re great, no worries.

its looks awesome but its as pointless as tips from the wild.
