Although this past year coming to an end is surely a cause for celebration, we must not forget that the year was not all bad. In fact, as we look upon 2020 with a retrospective view, there are likely things that came out of the time that were actually very good.

One of those things is this fan-made album by musician Aaron Grubb, which includes twelve remixed Zelda songs in total. The album, entitled The Legend of Zelda Collection, Vol. 1, re-orchestrates well-known Zelda songs with a new sound while still keeping to the original feel of undergoing a pulsing and dangerous adventure, filled with both sacrifices and triumphs. Utilizing various instruments, the album definitely encapsulates and yet heightens the tone of each song, thus creating an overall emotional experience that tugs at our nostalgic instincts.

The collection of songs pays tribute to the beautiful musical compositions in The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, Link’s Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, and Twilight Princess, celebrating the longevity of the work of original composers Koji Kondo, Akito Nakatsuka, Asuka Ohta, Toru Minegishi, Kazumi Totaka, Kozue Ishikawa, and Minako Hamano.

Aaron Grubb, who is already planning on Volume 2, can be found on Linktree, Twitter, and Instagram. Listen to the album on Spotify and YouTube to begin 2021 with a courageous spirit and be sure to check out Grubb’s other songs here!
