I think it’s a safe assumption that there are a considerable amount of anime fans within the Zelda fanbase. After all, our favorite Hylian franchise hails from the magical land of Japan, and there have been official manga releases that adapt most of the games in the series from renowned artists Akira Kimekawa. However, we haven’t had an official anime adaptation to date (that awesome segment for Palutena’s Smash Bros. reveal doesn’t count), and to many fans, I’m sure that’s more than distressing.

Unfortunately, that still holds true, but lucky for us, artist Sunnyisrandom has given us a taste of what could be with an anime-style sequence for Breath of the Wild. Using a montage of still images displayed over a cover of “Summertime Record” by Amatsuki, they’ve created something that I feel could easily be used in an official capacity. There’s real talent on display, and some of the pieces that they’ve created for this video are absolutely stunning. I immediately made a beeline to the artist’s Instagram after watching this and was in no way disappointed.

If you like what you’ve seen here, be sure to give Sunnyisrandom’s YouTube channel a look for some more impressive animations. You can also support them on Ko-fi.

So what do you think? Does this animation have you jonesing for a Breath of the Wild anime series? Let us know in the comments below!
