The soundtrack for Ocarina of Time is one of the standouts in the Zelda series’ vast musical catalog. To fans at the time, it showed how from the series had come in the music department; and retroactively, we recognize it as a touchstone for Zelda soundtracks to follow. And even after over 20 years since Ocarina of Time‘s release, that score continues to be reinterpreted by talented fans.

A couple of years ago, Steven Poissant and Sam Griffin of the Super Guitar Bros. released an album featuring acoustic guitar covers of songs from the Ocarina of Time soundtrack. As a way to promote the upcoming Patreon release of their Ocarina of Time tab book, the duo recently released a 30 minute video medley that features all the music from their album. If you have some time, the video is definitely worth a watch (and the music is worth a listen too).

The Super Guitar Bros. have covered songs from a litany of different games, including Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VII, Donkey Kong Country, Earthbound, Mega Man, and a whole bunch more. I got a chance to personally interview them a couple of years back, and they are couple of really cool dudes who are definitely worth checking out.

As for there Ocarina of Time album, it is still available for purchase on their official Bandcamp page here.
