Cave of Trials: The Second Half for Round One of the Halloween Havoc Tournament Lurks Forth!

Ladies and gentleman, my name is Kristen. Rosario. And I am your host for the CAVE OF TRIALS! Now before we get started on what is sure to be a very thrilling second half of round one for the Halloween Havoc Tournament, I like to address an issue a commenter brought up brought up last week and that’s favoritism.

Now I did say that the 16 competitors were chosen by me, but only because of what unique match ups they can bring. It doesn’t matter if you have been a Zelda character 30 minutes or 30 years, everyone will get what’s coming to them. I am here to see who is truly worthy of this title! The charred remains of our previous hosts (I forgot to previously mention Andy Spiteri’s pitiful run as host) played favorites, but this NEW ERA WILL NOT BE BOGGED DOWN BY THAT!

With all of that out of the way, let us take a current look at the tournament standing after the first half of round one!

Well it looks like while half of those matches were close, the other half were clearly won by a landslide. There looks to be some very intriguing match ups already set for round two. However we still need to wrap up the first round matches, so let’s get it going!

The first match of this week puts Ghirahim vs. Dampé! One of the main reasons the Zelda gangs go through problems, Ghirahim not only exerts high levels of pageantry, but tends to get in Link’s personal space for intimidation. The gravekeeper of a majority of Hyrule graveyard’s Dampé, should not be underestimated. A gravekeeper dedicated to his craft, his looks may not be amazing, but that hasn’t stopped him from being a helpful ghost though. Who wins this bout?

The second match has Malo vs. Yuga! Both of these competitors have one thing in common and that is they are not impressed with Link at all, while others see differently. The biggest difference between these two is that one’s a pint-sized kid with business acumen, and the other has a need to possess the power’s of Ganon. Who makes it out of this one still standing?

Our third bout pits Zant vs. Ghost Hunter! The Usurper King AKA the self-proclaimed “King of Twilight”, don’t let his calm demeanor fool you as he is a ruthless raving lunatic with a brilliant mind underneath. Despite this, his opponent, the Ghost Hunter seems to take a sick joy in the antipathy of chaos as well. He even considered Ganondorf’s destruction of Hyrule in Ocarina of Time “beautiful”. Which one of these psychopaths makes it to the second round!?

The final fight for round one of the Halloween Havoc Tournament is a rather unique match up. And when I mean “unique,” I’m not kidding as it is Tingle vs. Kilton! Being the “inspiration” so to say for this tournament, Tingle is a middle-aged man who believes himself to be a fairy. Even though he has his own set of skills, Tingle’s more remembered for for his attire, flamboyant attitude, and his catchphrases.

The owner of the Fang and Bone, Kilton seems to be weirdly fascinated with anything monster related. This being his so-called “hobby” is putting it mildly as he appears to be completely obsessed with Hyrule’s creatures. So it is the self-proclaimed fairy, versus the man with some not-so-great hobbies. Who will help top off round one of this tournament?
