Cave of Trials: Smash Ultimate Fantasmic Holiday Tournament – Quarterfinals

Ladies and gentleman, my name is Kristen. Rosario. And I am your host for the CAVE OF TRIALS! Now before we begin the Quarterfinals of the SMASH ULTIMATE FANTASMIC HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT, let’s take a look at the bracket to see who survived the second half of Round Two!
There were some clear contending bouts that are more than what I expected in the second half to Round Two. However, with Round Two out of the way, it’s time to move on to the Quarterfinals as the final eight fighters compete!
Our first match in the Quarterfinals pits Black Mage up against former New Era Champion Ghirahim. Both have proved themselves in their previous bouts. Black Mage and Ghirahim wield mighty magical abilities so this is a true match of might & magic.

Loading ...In the second Quarterfinals match, the leader of the Lin Kuei Sub-Zero faces off against the almighty goddess Amaterasu. The ironic part is that both of these competitors have faced gods before, so they certainly do not fear each other.
This is what Sub-Zero’s Manager, Taylor Wells had to say about his client’s opponent:
“I won’t lie, Amaterasu is going to be a tough opponent. Not only is she cute, but she’s a deity as well. That doesn’t mean Sub-Zero isn’t prepared. This isn’t the first time he’s faced gods, and it won’t be the last. The Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei has the ultimate control over the element of frost and he’ll use that to his advantage. This may be our toughest opponent yet, but Sub-Zero’s icy calm will prevail.”
And here’s what Almog Rimmer, Amaterasu’s Manager, said about Sub-Zero:
“Sub-Zero is a formidable opponent and a strong one, I’ll give him that. But you’re forgetting one thing: he is at a disadvantage here. Not only is Amaterasu the goddess of the sun who can control flaming infreno, she can also bend ice to her will with the Blizzard technique. Amaterasu and her pure heart will triumph, even against all odds and worthy opponent. That being said, may the best warrior win.”
Who gets out of this one the victor?!
