Nine years after the original Darksiders was released, the remastered version, Warmastered Edition, was announced as coming to Nintendo Switch. The game is set to arrive April 2nd both physically and digitally, and it will be listed at $29.99 USD. The Darksiders franchise, created by Vigil Games (now developed by Gunfire Games), has seen three installments so far, with the third launched not too long ago in November. So far, Darksiders has yet to make a big splash on Nintendo consoles, with the first…

German video game publisher Headup Games has recently announced the upcoming release of Windscape, a first-person, adventure-style game that will be available on the Nintendo Switch on March 27th. Windscape developer Dennis Witte wanted to incorporate elements from The Legend of Zelda into his creation, as he is in fact a huge fan of the series!  The result of this passion for Zelda and other fantasy titles led to an open world game filled with monsters to fight, puzzles to solve, and NPC’s to interact with. Windscape is set on a…

It is official: a press release by studio Analgesic Productions confirms that a sequel to the 2013 RPG Anodyne is coming to Windows, Mac, and Linux this May. The game will be titled Anodyne 2: Return to Dust. The game will include 2D dungeons (a la A Link to the Past), as well as 3D environments between which the player (as Nova the Nano Cleaner) will switch. To access the 2D sections, Nova must find characters in the 3D world, who are infected by…

There’s no other way to put it: Anodyne is fricken’ crazy. Don’t get the wrong idea about that either – it’s crazy in a wonderful, beautiful way. But after finishing the main campaign and exploring the land of Anodyne (aptly named The Land), I can’t really think of a better way to put it. But let’s back up for a second and start from the beginning. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is one of my favorite Zelda titles. Part…

It was announced in August of this year that the Zelda-inspired title Aragami: Shadow Edition is to come to the Nintendo Switch. Yet no release date was presented, at least until now. We have learned that this game will visit the Switch on February 22, 2019. Video game publisher and distributor Merge Games has also made a physical signature edition bundle, which includes all sorts of cool bonuses, such as two enamel pin badges, a soundtrack CD, and even an…

It’s finally here! After what seems like an excruciatingly long wait, Link, Zelda, and the rest of the gang are all set to do battle in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! Smash has always been one of my favorite series, and ever since the days of the Nintendo 64 version, I fantasized about who I would want to fight as in the next game. With the passing years, Smash Bros. has evolved from a neat collection of Nintendo lore to an…

I’m a weird kind of guy. With more and more people moving towards the convenience and affordability of buying their video games digitally, I’ve started buying more and more physical copies of my games – and if one doesn’t exist, I go so far as to make a case for it myself. My Switch shelf is full of cases with no games inside of it – objects who’s literal job is to sit there collecting dust, giving no one but…

Zelda-like games have been something of a focus for us recently, and we’ve another to present. Hazelnut Bastille is graphically inspired by A Link to the Past and the gameplay follows suit. Its Kickstarter campaign is still going, with a little over 24 hours left to go. Those who donate $5 or more receive a second title, called Dawnthorn. Dawnthorn is being presented as the game before Hazelnut Bastille if it released on the NES. It should be noted that…

What do you get when Andy, Kat, Gooey, and Kevin walk into a bar? Nobody knows for sure, but if I had to bet, it would sound something like The Champions’ Cast Episode 35! Taylor is away this week, so Andy recruited some of Zelda Dungeon’s finest to bring you the hardest hitting Zelda and Super Smash Bros. questions! What’s the deal with how Nintendo defines echo fighters? Who’s the “best Zelda girl”? Which character has no shot of making…

Hello folks, and welcome back to Inspired By Zelda! This month was originally going to focus on a creepy 2D Link’s Awakening-esq game named Anodyne, but as time was a scarce resource this month, so unfortunately, that think-piece will have to wait until next month. To make it up to everybody, I had a chance to chat with the Lead Developer of Stranger Things: The Game Dave Pottinger about the game, and I’m here to share that with you! We…
