The Blood Moon rises once again. That is to say, it will rise once again. On May 26th, a “Super Flower Blood Moon” will be visible from most of the mainland United States, Hawaii, Oceania, eastern Asia and Antarctica. And we all know what that means. Villains and enemies, new and old, will be returning from the grave! But fear not; Zelda Dungeon has you covered. In celebration of the upcoming lunar eclipse, from 5/23 to 5/30, we wanted to…

The Results are in! And the winner of Zelda Dungeon’s 2021 Musical March Madness is none other than: Midna’s Lament from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess! Rejoice, Zelda fans! Today marks the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, a series that has captured the hearts of multiple generations of gamers, given so many fans the opportunity to be legendary heroes, and inspired so many video games to follow in its footsteps. We at Zelda Dungeon owe so much to the Zelda series and to the brilliant minds that built it. But The Legend of Zelda itself isn’t the only game celebrating a big birthday this month. The…

The end of this year is rapidly approaching, which means that it’s time for my favorite annual tradition here at Zelda Dungeon: Best. Zelda. Ever! While no new Zelda games were released this year, we did have some DLC come out for Cadence of Hyrule and we’re looking forward to the upcoming release of a new Hyrule Warriors game: Age of Calamity! The prequel to Breath of the Wild just missed the cut for this year’s list, so you’ll have…

It may be hard to believe, but The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask will be celebrating its 20-year anniversary this month. Released on April 27th, 2000, the “dark horse” of 3D Zelda titles introduced us to the the darker, more emotional side of the beloved franchise. Despite being a follow-up to one of the most acclaimed video game adventures of its day, Majora’s Mask built a lasting legacy all its own with its creative gameplay risks, its emotionally-charged story, and its cast of…

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, arguably the greatest Smash Bros. game yet and inarguably one of the biggest pieces of fan service Nintendo has ever released to its fans. One of the things that makes the road to a new Smash Bros. game seem more exciting than your run-of-the-mill Nintendo game is the constant buzz around which characters we might see join the brawl. The last two installments…

Link’s Awakening for Nintendo Switch, scheduled to release on September 20th, was one of Nintendo’s marquee showings at E3 2019. This upcoming remake of the Game Boy classic was in fact playable on the E3 show floor, as attendees were invited to play through the game’s opening 15 minutes, from the moment Link wakes up on Koholint Island to the completion of the game’s first dungeon. The Zelda Dungeon team was given the opportunity to be among the first people…

Following February’s Week of Love, we at Zelda Dungeon have been reminiscing side quests old and new. From Kafei to Korok, our next themed week covers a range of Link’s optional escapades throughout the series. In a franchise that rewards you for leaving no stone unturned with everything from Korok poop to fabled equipment and beyond, the team will be reflecting on the trials and challenges where you get out what you put in. What Can You Expect from Side…

The surprise announcement last month of the upcoming rhythm dungeon crawler Zelda spinoff Cadence of Hyrule is still something that I’m still fully wrapping my head around. It was almost like a floodgate moment — if we can get a Zelda crossover this out there, we can get anything! And if Nintendo is willing to let a small Canadian developer touch the Zelda IP, all of its different properties are probably on the table for any developer with a great…
