The end of this year is rapidly approaching, which means that it’s time for my favorite annual tradition here at Zelda Dungeon: Best. Zelda. Ever! While no new Zelda games were released this year, we did have some DLC come out for Cadence of Hyrule and we’re looking forward to the upcoming release of a new Hyrule Warriors game: Age of Calamity! The prequel to Breath of the Wild just missed the cut for this year’s list, so you’ll have…

It may be hard to believe, but The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask will be celebrating its 20-year anniversary this month. Released on April 27th, 2000, the “dark horse” of 3D Zelda titles introduced us to the the darker, more emotional side of the beloved franchise. Despite being a follow-up to one of the most acclaimed video game adventures of its day, Majora’s Mask built a lasting legacy all its own with its creative gameplay risks, its emotionally-charged story, and its cast of…

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, arguably the greatest Smash Bros. game yet and inarguably one of the biggest pieces of fan service Nintendo has ever released to its fans. One of the things that makes the road to a new Smash Bros. game seem more exciting than your run-of-the-mill Nintendo game is the constant buzz around which characters we might see join the brawl. The last two installments…

Zelda Dungeon is happy to officially announce the return of the Zelda Dungeon Marathon! The 2019 Zelda Dungeon Marathon will begin on Saturday July 13th at 9 AM Central through July 19th. The Zelda Dungeon Team will be raising money for the Extra Life charity in direct support of the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. The Zelda Dungeon Marathon is an annual event held in July that began in 2012. Since 2012 Zelda Dungeon has raised over $30,000 for charity. The event…

Link’s Awakening for Nintendo Switch, scheduled to release on September 20th, was one of Nintendo’s marquee showings at E3 2019. This upcoming remake of the Game Boy classic was in fact playable on the E3 show floor, as attendees were invited to play through the game’s opening 15 minutes, from the moment Link wakes up on Koholint Island to the completion of the game’s first dungeon. The Zelda Dungeon team was given the opportunity to be among the first people…

Following February’s Week of Love, we at Zelda Dungeon have been reminiscing side quests old and new. From Kafei to Korok, our next themed week covers a range of Link’s optional escapades throughout the series. In a franchise that rewards you for leaving no stone unturned with everything from Korok poop to fabled equipment and beyond, the team will be reflecting on the trials and challenges where you get out what you put in. What Can You Expect from Side…

The surprise announcement last month of the upcoming rhythm dungeon crawler Zelda spinoff Cadence of Hyrule is still something that I’m still fully wrapping my head around. It was almost like a floodgate moment — if we can get a Zelda crossover this out there, we can get anything! And if Nintendo is willing to let a small Canadian developer touch the Zelda IP, all of its different properties are probably on the table for any developer with a great…

Hello everybody and WELCOME to Zelda Dungeon’s MUSICAL MARCH MADNESS. The premise is simple: 64 songs will go head to head in a series of single elimination matches, with the winner advancing to the next round, until there is only ONE song left standing that can be called the Greatest Zelda Song Ever. This post will be updated DAILY with new match-ups, so make sure you bookmark it. Polls will last 24 HOURS, STARTING AND ENDING AT 5 PM PACIFIC…

The month of March is almost upon us, and not only does that mean the winter is almost over, but it’s time for March Madness! Of course, we just couldn’t sit by and not get in on the action, so we decided to put a spin on a yearly feature that we like to run on the site. In 2018, Zelda Dungeon polled all of it’s contributors, from editors to social media managers to forum members to wiki editors, to…

It’s hard to believe it, but it’s already that time of month: Valentine’s Day. Some dread it and some love it. Well, here at Zelda Dungeon, we’re going to make this week a bit better for you! And that means it’s time for another themed week! We all have our ‘ships and our favorite characters that we would love to see our Hero with, but this won’t just be about Link! I mean, everyone deserves love, right? The team will…
