YouTube creator CaptBurgerson is creating a series of videos that take a deep look at each of the dungeons in Skyward Sword HD. The first episode delves into the depths of the mysterious Skyview Temple. Throughout the video, CaptBurgerson analyses the themes, design, soundtrack, progression, and boss fight of the dungeon.

Personally, I think the Skyview Temple is good for an introductory dungeon. It has a hauntingly luminous aesthetic and an eerie score that could fit perfectly in a Metroid game. Back in the Wii days, one-on-one sword duels were fairly unique. And Skyview had them with both the Staflos warrior and Girahim. Additionally, this dungeon stood out for its clever use of the Beetle in solving puzzles. Flight controls in Skyward Sword were improved over the laggy seagull mechanics from The Wind Waker. My only major gripes with this dungeon would be the overabundance of hint stones and the rolling eyeball puzzles. Still, on the whole, it is a good first outing for Link on the surface world.
