What’s happening, Zelda fans?! Are you ready for another exciting edition of the Zelda Dungeon Caption Contest? A few weeks ago at the Summer Games Done Quick speedrunning marathon, a creative and talented group of Zelda fans were able to achieve the seemingly impossible: they acquired the Triforce in Ocarina of Time.

To be more specific, they used a certain exploit within the game to allow for a speedrunning robot, through only precise button presses, to inject custom, fan-created code into the game in real time, code that, among many other wacky things, allowed the player to collect the Triforce in a specially created cutscene. The entire presentation was equal parts bonkers and touching. You should definitely check it out right here when you find the chance.

In honor of this so-called “Triforce%” project, this week’s contest will feature a screenshot from the presentation described above. The Triforce is within Link’s grasp. What words can we apply to this special moment?

Last Week’s Contest:

We set off some fireworks last week.

Here are our non-photo caption winners:

  • Kestron: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Hylians are created equal, that they are endowed by the Triforce with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the defeat of Ganon.”
  • Mask Of Truth: “I’m not flying, I’m falling with style!”
  • JDAT: “At least I look pretty and go fast. Wish I didn’t have to blow myself up to do it though”
  • IceRod: “Soaring through a rough 2022 so far at the midway point with little to no information about Breath of the Wild 2….”
  • Porter Frost: “The citizens of Hateno village looked up in horror as dozens of flaming meteors hurtled through the air towards them.”

This Week’s Contest:

A lot of naysayers were quick to dismiss the Triforce% project’s results. But just look right there. Link clearly found the Triforce.

Here are the guidelines:

  • Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages. When in doubt, keep it Nintendo.
  • If you don’t have the ability to edit the image, just leave it as a comment. We make sure to have a separate list of winners for this category.
  • Photo editing and manipulation (i.e. Photoshop) is allowed, but these entries will be part of a separate list of winners for this category.
  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Dungeon. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another… and that’s OK.
  • Have fun and be creative!

Don’t forget to check back throughout the week and upvote your favorites, and, who knows?  Maybe you will be one of next week’s winners.
