It’s Monday night, and you know what that means! The Zelda Dungeon Caption Contest is back again to deliver some hard-hitting chuckles to the wide and vast ZD Universe. Now, today’s contest is a special one. Last week, Zelda Dungeon’s reigning authority figure Mases Hagopian reminded me that the number 316 carries with it an important legacy, a legacy that should not be ignored when booking our weekly Caption Contest.

On June 23rd, 1996, professional wrestling superstar “Stone Cold” Steve Austin won the King of the Ring tournament and delivered his now-iconic “Austin 3:16” speech. With so much history wrapped up in the number 316, our contest this week had to have some sports entertainment flair. So, I pulled out my golden shovel and did some hardcore digging across the internet to find a suitable image for the occasion. The Legend of Zelda and pro wrestling don’t have a lot of crossover, but I think I found something that’ll live up to the Austin 3:16 promo. And that’s the bottom line, because Stone Cold said so.

This Week’s Contest:

Shout out to YouTube’s madagascarsan for putting together this Smash Bros.-WWE crossover.

Here are the guidelines:

  • Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages. When in doubt, keep it Nintendo.
  • If you don’t have the ability to edit the image, just leave it as a comment. We make sure to have a separate list of winners for this category.
  • Photo editing and manipulation (i.e. Photoshop) is allowed, but these entries will be part of a separate list of winners for this category.
  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Dungeon. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another… and that’s OK.
  • Have fun and be creative!

Don’t forget to check back throughout the week and upvote your favorites, and, who knows?  Maybe you will be one of next week’s winners.
